Review:
At first I had put this book aside because I was going through one of those book mourning periods and I just could not read anything other than the book I had just finished. Usually it takes me awhile before I move on to another read but I knew that I had to get this done and it was going to happen. Surprisingly I finished the whole book in one sitting!
Finding Mr. Darcy is the type of book that has just enough cute and tender compelling moments that you feel as if you have to finish right then and there. I will admit that I have yet to read any of Jane Austen’s books and I felt like a disgusting cheater while out main character Liza raved about Jane and I had no clue what was going on. Sure I heard of Pride & Prejudice (I even seen part of the newish movie) and the other books but never gave me own time to try and read any of them.
I adored going through Eliza’s head and enjoying her love for the Austen classics. Also her using all of Jane’s books/characters to help her throughout life lessons and her love life had me aching to read one of or any of Austen’s novels.
As we read on in the book, Liza’s best friend, Janie, usually is the one to get the attention from guys and Liza is hardly ever glanced at. However this year seems to be the year for Liza where she had not one, not two, but three guys pining for her attention and she doesn’t exactly follow her own instincts but Jane Austen’s. I was actually quite frustrated with Liza’s decisions with her love interests that I wanted to throw my Kindle out the window with a sickening passion. One moment I loved Will (Liza’s version of Mr. Darcy), then Ryan (her best friends ex boyfriend who is somewhat a bad boy and player) and then Will, Ryan, then Ben (guy in England you meet later on in the book) though I didn’t like Ben and missed Ryan.
I had a whirlwind of emotions but always seemed to come back to Ryan, I really, really liked him despite all the rumors of him going through girls like it was nothing. He had something about him that was better than Will could ever be.
Overall after Liza goes through boy problems, finding her Mr. Darcy I was pleased with the ending. I kinda saw it coming but whatever, it came out how I wanted it and I couldn’t have been happier! I gave this book a whopping 4/5 stars and recommend it to anyone who had been waiting for a cutesy novel with a cutesy HEA.
